Masonography is a live concert featuring original musical compositions and dance choreography created by Mason Aeschbacher. These original works will be performed by a group of seven dancers, accompanied by small orchestra of musicians featuring trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar, drum set, piano, and various percussion instruments. The concert’s creator, Mason Aeschbacher, holds a Master’s Degree in Music and has over 12 years of experience as a modern dance accompanist. Mason is also the Musical Director of local performing arts group, Samba Fogo.
Masonography will present a unique form of performance art; it is a dance concert with a plot, a play with no words, a musical without singing. It is an artistic and emotional journey, exploring the interplay between music and dance, and the expressive potential of these art forms. Each dancer in Masonography plays a character that is based on an archetype, and remains the same character throughout the concert. Compassion, Conformity, Sensuality, Codependency, Inspiration, and Strength will interact to expose some of the truths behind civilized society.
