Lose your EQUILIBRIUM with Karole Armitage the "Punk Ballerina," aptly named by Vanity Fair magazine. This New York choreographer, recently nominated for a 2009 Tony Award, will present her latest world premiere using her background in classical ballet to explore uncharted realms of movement.
Then, in the spirit of shows such as "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars," you will vote on your own local artists. Utah choreographers Kay Andersen (Southern Utah University), Eric Handman (University of Utah), Erik Stern (Weber State University), and Doris Trujillo (Utah Valley University) will each create a short tongue-in-cheek work on the theme of social change. Don't miss your opportunity to help decide which new dance will be included in the Company's touring repertory.
Also enjoy Carolyn Carlson's poetic "Down by the River" and an athletic new work by Artistic Director Charlotte Boye-Christensen.
